We’ve touched upon sacrifice, effort, desire and
commitment in this series and the feedback has
been great.

There are 3 words left but two of them are so closely
related that I’ve decided to put them both in Part
5 of this series.

For this series the two words are:

Will and Determination.

The definition of Will is to wish or have a desire

The definition of Determination is a fixed purpose

When trying to accomplish any goal or achieve any level
of success you’re bound to run into some valleys. You will
hit road blocks, speed bumps, along the way.

It’s your will, that burning fire inside of you that helps you push
through the tough times to get to the other side. It’s your determination
to not accept anything less then what your fixed purpose is to achieve
success.

These two words go hand and hand when it comes to achieving success.
It takes get determination, sacrifice, will, commitment, desire to get from Point
A to Point B in this journey call life.

I pray that this series has served you as it’s served me bringing it to you.

Today’s word is E-F-F-O-R-T!

The definition of Effort is…

something done by exertion or hard work

This word is perfect for achieving success because there’s no way you’re going
to be successful if you’re not willing to work hard! Nothing in life worth having
comes easy.

I heard somewhere that the only place that Success comes BEFORE Work is in the
dictionary, LOL. I never forgot that statement. If you want to achieve anything
you are going to have to work for it, period!

Today’s word goes hand and hand with some of the other words we’ve used previously
like sacrifice, desire, and commitment.

Recently I personally put all the 4 terms together in a personal journey of mine. I went to
live in Maryland for 3 weeks and had a chance to work with a dear friend of mine name
Monte Sanders. He’s a personal trainer to stars like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, NFL cheerleaders
and regular people like you and I. I left to Maryland for one reason…

I wanted to be more successful. By making that decision to go it required:

Sacrifice (I went from being home where I have family and friends to a place where
I knew no one!)

Desire (The fire inside of me to improve my quality of life mentally, physically and spiritually
was far greater than anything else I wanted)

Commitment (Everyday I woke up and committed to the journey. The days of working out twice
a day, having to still do my normal job, eat the foods I’m suppose to… wasn’t easy!)

But it all came today because I was willing to WORK, I was willing to put in the EFFORT.

And while it’s still early the success is coming. Not a day goes by where someone doesn’t
acknowledge how happier I am, how much energy I have, how I look as slim now as I did
5-6 years ago!

I’m telling you if you are willing to work, and put in the effort, success will be yours!

I encourage you to write below, tell me what you thought about this post, tell me what
things you’ve accomplished in the past that you thought you couldn’t do but managed
to do it anyway. Remember together we can move mountains, so let each one of our
stories motivate the next person, so we can all be successful.

I’ve been blessed to accomplish some nice life long dreams and have so much
more to go. One of them actually is to see you succeed and to hear you influencing
others to do the same.

This Part 3 of our ‘7 Words To Success’ we are going to talk about the word

Commitment.

Commitment is a word that’s been rumored to be something MEN hate to do when it comes
to relationships, but let’s not put all guys in this boat, lol.

The definition of Commitment is as follows:

a pledge or promise

When setting goals we must honestly go ahead and pledge to stay the
course and finish the journey. A lot of times what happens is we hit a few
stumbling blocks along the way to success and quit.

We cannot let a block get in our way. It’s there only as a test to see if you
really want it bad enough. It actually makes success taste sweeter when you
work hard for it. If it came easy, we wouldn’t appreciate it, trust me, I know!

So when you decide you want to be success and you discover what success
looks like in your eyes, get a plan and commit to it and don’t accept failure
as an option.

We possess the same character, and spirit Jesus had when he was pinned
on the cross. If he didn’t keep his promise and go through with the plan
to die for you and I where would we be today.

Yesterday we talked about sacrifice and I’m thankful for those
who read the post and made their comment known. You’re one
step closer to achieving true success.

The word sacrifice led to the next word today which is equally as
important if not MORE important.

Today’s word is DESIRE.

According to the dictionary Desire means:

to wish or long for something

Why is the word ‘desire’ an important word when it comes
to achieving success? It’s because the desire is the fuel
that runs our actions!

It’s like gasoline in a car… without it, the car can’t go. It’s like
food, without it we can’t function well.

When you’ve determined what your desire is, what it is that
you’re chasing, the journey to success is that much easier.

No longer is it cloudy – The forecast when you have desire
is clear skies, with abundant sunshine

So today, post below and answer this one question:

What is your desire?

Me personally, my desire is to touch as many lives as I can.
I personally feed off the happiness of others. This does not mean
I take advantage of people. Your happiness equals my happiness.

First off success is a journey that should not be walked alone or enjoyed by one. If you are to be
successful lets also figure out how to impact the lives of others as we achieve success, that way
we all win!

Today’s word is:

SACRIFICE!

The definition of the word sacrifice according to the dictionary is:

the surrender or destruction of something prized or desirable for the sake of something considered as having a higher or more pressing claim.

In order for us to get something greater, we must give up something great too… If you got a job and you want to make more
money that might mean giving up a little freedom. If you have a spouse and you want your relationship to grow, that might
mean giving up a little football on tv, in exchange for high quality time with your significant other.

Bottom line is nothing worth having doesn’t come with a price and ultimately some sacrifice has to be made in order to get
something even more important, or of higher value.

I encourage you to read this post and actually write in the comment box below what you’re willing to sacrifice
today so that you can have something better tomorrow. You don’t have to say what it is you’re chasing… Let that be
between you and God but let’s all post what we’re willing to give up to get it on here.

This message I wrote today is as important to you as it is to me. I desperately needed to see this message in print.
I pray that as I walk in my journey of life, that you too can walk with me and together let’s get to where we really
want to go and that’s “The Road of Success”.

First off as you’ll come to realize by reading my blog is that I really
believe that knowledge should not be kept but shared. If you know
something how can you not share it if it’s beneficial to someone else…

Exactly! You must share it!

Too often in life we go ahead and walk around like we have a magic
lamp with a genie about to come out where we make a bunch of wisheson what we want…

(Aladdin was cartoon ya know!)

There’s nothing wrong with making wishes…
There’s nothing wrong with having dreams…

But I have bad news for you…

You won’t make it there if you are not trying to get
these things for the ‘RIGHT’ reasons. If you’re looking
to get stuff just for your own pleasure and that alone
chances are you’ll never get what you want.

Actually let me take a step back. You might get it but it won’t
give you the feeling that you were actually seeking.

In my last post I talked about how I wanted a BMW M5. Why did
I want one?

Because it would make me feel powerful to have a car with over 500 Horsepower, even though I’m the safest driver and won’t even use 50% of the car’s power.

Also it’s a bmw, so I’d look cool instantly. But as I kept thinking about having this car, I couldn’t wrap my head around a decent plan to get it.

Then I later figured out why when I started to read my devotionals. All the reasons I wanted that car was selfish. My thought process needed to change.

I needed to figure out how getting a car like that would serve others! When we serve, the “universe” will serve us back and give us the thingswe want and need.

Now I use the word ‘universe’ lightly here cause I’m not about the whole ‘new age’ stuff.

I truly believe that God blesses his children who take care of his other children.

So how can I turn this want of a BMW M5 into an act of service? Well the
bottom line is I’ve always wanted to influence children and tell them the
way to live life the right way. But guess who the kids out there listen to?

The people with cool cars, nice watches, big houses…

Now a car is a car, but more important to me is to serve these young children
that’s coming up not knowing what life is truly about.

Once I started thinking about the kids and how the car is a means to me grabbing their attention, all the sudden the idea of getting the car was not only no longer something I struggled
to think about.

Also the plan to get it rapidly drew itself out… I had a vision and made it plain and God filled in the rest… Now it’s not a matter of I’d get the car but a matter of when. And God said it himself, be patient, cause I will give you what you want and need not a day later than when you should get it.

How comforting is that!

So if you want to get something please figure out a way to provide acts of service. It’s by serving we are able to receive.

And not to mention I’ve been having so much fun posting on Facebook because the messages are
short and to the point and the feedback has been tremendous (if you’re reading this and are one of my facebook fans, I love you, real talk

Goals = ________

But today what I want to talk about is the whole idea of goals! A lot of times we are told to go ahead and write down what our goals are and I’ve been one of those people that write goals on a regular. It’s not until recently that I realized that writing goals was cool, but something was still missing.

You see I have the following goals I wanted to accomplish:

• Buying my parents a house
• Getting a BMW M5
• Getting a sweet pad down in Florida (fort lauderdale rise up
• Being Married (taking application

What I began to realize is that these goals were cool but it was not enough.

I did it all …

1. Affirmations…
2. Vision Board…
3. Wallpapers for motivation…

It’s not until I went to San Diego a few weeks ago and heard famous Millionaire Jordan Belfort that I realized what the missing link was. He talked about how people support those with visions not goals.

When he said that I automatically said, “damn!”. I’ve been doing this wrong this whole time. But even then I still didn’t get it 100% fully.

Then my favorite football player Ray Lewis got a street named after him in Baltimore and he talked about having a vision and creating a name for yourself, creating a legacy that people will remember you by.

This takes me back to a conversation I had with my buddy Rob    Williams that literally brought me to tears and actually left me gasping for air.

You see when you have a vision where you’re trying to leave a legacy so that when someone mentions your name and INSTANTLY certain thoughts come to mind- This is where a TRUE impact is made. Having the goals I had above, they all great but what will people say about me when I’m gone.

That Geo drove a nice car… That’s not why I work over 60 hours a week for. Nah… I work because I want people to say Geo lived life the right way.

Geo loved people and shared that love with every single person he could touch. Geo made me feel like I could do anything as long as I put my mind to do it. Geo believed in me during times where I didn’t believe in myself.

THATS WHY I GO SO HARD.

That’s why I am online at 3:30 am writing on someone’s facebook wall or looking up quotes to write for the next morning. If I can be remembered for anything, please let it be because I help someone live a better life. That’s my vision and if I can fulfill it, my goals in life will follow suit.
